Community Service

We believe in creating not only better students, but better community members.

We engage our students in lessons of life by partnering with the community to help those in need. Some of the organizations we have most recently supported include:

  • Canned Food Drive  To supply holiday dinners and food throughout the year for families in our community
  • Pop Tops for Ronald McDonald House  The money received is used to directly support lodging, transportation and other support services for the families that need the House while their child receives medical care in Las Vegas.
  • Jump Rope for Heart-American Heart Association Collecting donations to support ongoing research for children with heart disorders
  • Pennies for Peace  Service-Learning program designed to broaden our students' cultural horizons while teaching them about their capacities as philanthropists-one penny at a time.
  • Gently Used Coat Drive  In coordination with the organization, Coat Closet Las Vegas, Merryhill Elementary is collecting clean, reusable coats October 17th-25th.  Donation drop boxes will be in the school office.  We can warm the community for those in need one coat at a time.
  • Southern Nevada Children First (SNCF)  SNCF is a local organization that provides long-term transitional living and life skills training to homeless pregnant and parenting teens and young adults, ages 16-22.  By collecting gift cards from shops, restaurants, and supermarkets we are able to organize a Christmas celebration for these women and children in need.
